Ngaio School is currently divided into two syndicates, Kākāpō (Years 1 to 3) and Tūī (Years 4 to 6).
Our school waiata, Piki ki te Tūī, speaks of a student’s ascent through the school. From blossoming in Kōwhai, continuing to flower in Pōhutukawa, climbing upwards through the trees in Kākāpō, to flying in Tūī syndicate; overcoming any obstacle. As they soar the tūī sing, calling out their growing aspirations, dreams and desires.
Each syndicate has its own web page with key information and teacher contact details. These web pages are updated termly, with each syndicate giving details of the classroom programmes, events and expectations. Syndicate events can also be found on the school calendar.
At Ngaio School we use Seesaw, an online classroom platform for meaningful student engagement. Seesaw gives an opportunity for families to gain a window into their student’s learning and engage in home-school connections. Students use built-in multimodal tools to capture what they know in Seesaw’s digital portfolio to share with their family. Your child’s teacher will contact you to provide access to this.
